Dagon: The Island Between Worlds (teaser)
Taiwan stands between past and future, shaped by layers of memory, belief, and uncertainty. Its landscapes bear the marks of past dominations—Dutch, French, Japanese—and the constant shadow of a powerful neighbor across the sea. Mountains, temples, and coastal ruins hold the echoes of those who came and left, leaving traces both visible and invisible.
This project looks at the island as a space of transition, where myth and reality overlap. Through photographs of places and remnants, Dagon: The Island Between Worlds reflects on how history, imagination, and the presence of looming forces shape the fragile balance between what is seen and what is sensed.
“I cannot think of the deep sea without shuddering at the nameless things that
may at this very moment be crawling and floundering on its slimy bed...”
― H.P. Lovecraft, Dagon
